The Best Way to Lose Weight for Beginners

Losing weight is a lifetime commitment. It is not something you turn on and off at your convenience. It’s about maintaining healthy food choices for the rest of your life. If you are morbidly obese, it goes without saying that you cannot loose weight on your own. The best way to lose weight is to get the help of a physician, and a gym instructor. You did not get to be that big without picking a lot of bad habits over your lifetime and so you need someone to help you monitor yourself. Losing a few pounds may sound easy, but it’s actually those few pounds that’s challenging. If you think you’re eating healthily and still not managing to lose weight, here are two weight loss tips: keep a food diary and exercise.

The food diary should contain everything you eat and drink, from the moment you wake up till the moment you sleep at night. You may not realize that you’ve been eating one too many candy bars in between meals. You can write everything that you feel in the food diary, sometimes the best way to lose weight is to pinpoint certain triggers that make you want to eat in the middle of the day.

Another effective method, if not the most effective, is to exercise daily. You don’t have to sweat it out everyday in the gym- but it does help a lot to go to the gym. If you simply increase your physical activity in a day, then you will manage to lose weight quickly. It’s not about the amount of sweat you manage to lose in a day, it’s about the amount of physical activity you do in a day. You can start by using the stairs instead of the elevator. If using the stairs makes you feel icky, try to remember that you burn five times more calories when using the stairs than when you use the elevator.

How You Can Prevent Tennis Elbow

In order to know how to effectively prevent tennis elbow you will need to know just what it is that causes it. Many people think that because of the name, only tennis players can suffer from this condition, but the truth is different.

Everybody can suffer tennis elbow, even if they have never held a tennis racket in their life because this condition is caused by a certain repetitive extension movement that puts strain on the forearm muscle. This condition is very common under tennis players but also kayakers, carpenters, chefs and any person working in jobs that require a lot of manual labor.

Now that you know that repetitive extension movement is the cause of the painful tennis elbow condition you might think that the solution is to just stop making those movements and you are pain free.

While this may be true, it is of course not the most workable solution because it would mean that people will be living in a very restricted way, taking away a lot of movement and thus pleasure in their life.

There is however another solution that will offer not only instant relief when needed, but will also avoid tennis elbow pain to be set off in the future. This solution is actually one that anybody can do in the comfort of their own home and it had nothing to do with invasive medication nor severe measurements nor restrictions.

If you are serious about dealing with your tennis elbow condition and prevent tennis elbow from re-occurring in the future, you should learn how to correctly prepare the muscles in your forearm.

The use of a few easy to perform tennis elbow exercises will lengthen and strengthen your muscles and by doing so you are actively preventing tennis elbow problems, thus ensuring a pain free life.

Improve Nutrition Intake With A Home Juice Extactor

Most of us are clear these days how important is is to get the right nutrition from the foods we eat. Unfortunately, we are not always eating as healthy as we could. Sometimes this is because our schedules are hectic and we don’t have time to eat how we would like too. Other times, we are just eating junk food and processed foods that are nutritionally inadequate. Whatever the reasons you will be happy to learn that there is a great way to improve your nutritional intake – vastly! Get your self a juice extractor and make healthy juicer recipes.

If you tend to miss out on meals, and breakfast in particular, then no worries. You can reap the benefits of healthy fresh juices, whether they are made from fruits, vegetables or a mixture of the two. Vegetable juices, especially green vegetable juices are not necessarily the best tasting beverages in the world, but adding fruits will overpower the vegetable juice taste and the result is an exceptionally and nutritionally diversified drink.

If you’re drinking a juice to replace a meal then you can always add some high-quality protein powder to the mix, stir it well, and bingo you have a complete liquid meal. This is a lot quicker than cooking something, when time is of the essence. A great tip is to buy a centrifugal juice extractor as these are the fastest juicer machines available. Some can even make juice in 5 seconds flat!

Health Benefits of Juicing
The health benefits of juicing is a big subject these day, and for good reason, there are many! It has been shown that drinking juice everyday provides us with an abundance of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and enzymes that detox our organs and cells, increase energy levels, improve digestion, lower blood pressure, lower high cholesterol levels, help prevent atherosclerosis from developing, increase longevity, promote eye health, heal constipation, improve memory and significantly reduce our chances of developing cancer and heart disease. High Protein Foods

Protein is essential to good health. It’s the building block of body tissues, hair and nails, and it regulates necessary body functions such as the manufacture of enzymes and the transport of nutrients. It also helps promote energy and endurance. Lack of protein can lead to a compromised immune system, decreased muscle mass, and failure of the heart and respiratory system.

The recommended daily allowance of protein is eight grams per twenty pounds of body weight. Millions of people worldwide suffer from protein malnutrition. In the United States, it’s easy for most people to get enough protein in their diets; however, it’s important to remember that when it comes to health, not all protein sources are created equal.

Protein is made of amino acids, and there are eight amino acids that are essential to human health. The body must get these amino acids from food; the body can manufacture the remaining amino acids from the eight that must be provided by diet. Meat, milk and eggs are high protein foods which contain a complete balance of the eight essential amino acids. Animal protein sources, however, tend to be high in saturated fat, and they increase cholesterol levels in the blood, particularly LDL cholesterol. A diet that’s too high in animal protein contributes to atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.

Though vegetable protein is low in saturated fat, it’s incomplete, meaning that plant-based protein lacks one or more of the essential amino acids. High protein plant sources include soy, couscous, beans, seeds, and nuts. People who are vegetarians can get the amino acids they need by eating a variety of foods from plant sources to provide the correct balance. For example, mixing nuts, grains, seeds, and vegetables will meet amino acid requirements as effectively as a diet high in animal protein, and it’s less risky to overall health and well-being.

Wise choices can be made in eating animal protein, as well. Choose lean cuts of beef instead of fatty hamburger meat. Grilled chicken is better than fried chicken. Fish is a good choice, and salmon, mackerel, and herring are some of the healthiest fish: they’re high in omega-3 fatty acids, which help fight heart disease and are important to brain function. Instead of eggs, choose egg substitutes, which are made with egg whites and are cholesterol-free.

High protein diets are effective for some people in suppressing appetite, thereby aiding in weight loss. Researchers aren’t sure why eating high protein diets helps to suppress appetite, and studies are ongoing. But as with all things, moderation is the key. Boosting one’s protein intake needs to be done responsibly and with an eye toward keeping intake of saturated fat and LDL cholesterol low.

For muscle-building, protein is a crucial component. But it isn’t necessary to eat a high protein diet in order to build muscle. The most important aspect of building muscle is eating 300-500 more calories a day than you actually need, in the context of a well-balanced diet.

For optimal health, it’s best to eat a varied diet and not too much of any one thing. Yes, protein is important, and high protein foods can be healthy when eaten in moderation and chosen wisely. To be on the safe side, always check with your doctor if you’re planning on making major changes to your diet.

Cure Tennis Elbow Quickly With These Tips

Are you searching for ways on how you can treat tennis elbow? Well it is a good thing you decided to take time and read this article. This brief writing will help ease your pain and have your arm functioning optimally in no time.

Tennis elbow is kind of condition which is prevalent (but definitely not limited) to tennis players. In the medical community, it is referred to as lateral epicondylitis or sometimes, elbow tendinitis. In this condition, the outer (lateral) part of your elbow will be inflamed, tender and painful.

You really do not have to play tennis in order to get hit by tennis elbow, so you need to ensure that the symptoms you experience or manifest are diagnosed correctly. Here listed are some of the most commonly reported symptoms of tennis elbow;

a.) The outside region of your elbow is tender and painful to touch

b.) Your hand and wrist pulsates with pain every time you try to lift, move or grip on things

c.) Extending both the hand and wrist is rather painful

d.) The arm and/or elbow feels stiff, especially upon waking up

e.) There is inflammation or swelling along the elbow joint

If you are experiencing these symptoms, then you indeed have tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis. The next question now would be is what are the things that you can do in order to cure it – right? Well, here are a couple of effective tennis elbow treatment tips;

a.) Use an ice pack or heat pack. Apply either of the two along the afflicted part to reduce the swelling as well as the pain.

b.) Take NSAID’s or Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs. Such medications also help reduce the swelling and will immediately ease the nagging pain.

c.) Purchase and use tennis elbow supports. These are straps and/or braces which are specially designed for this particular condition. Elbow supports are worn in order to reduce the strain or pressure along the elbow as you perform your daily duties or activities. They are also helpful in preventing your arm from incurring further damage.

All in all, you will need to provide your injured arm the proper rest it badly deserves. If you are afflicted with this form of injury, you need to start being kind to yourself and be very careful, more especially to the wrist and elbow. Take a time off from playing tennis or other activities which resulted in you acquiring this condition in the first place.

Principles of Weight Loss

One of the most common questions in the fitness world is related to people looking for simple weight loss tips. People are often looking for a way to cheat the system or make the difficult simple, when the truth of the matter is that there is no easy way to loose weight. You have to follow simple principles that can be difficult to put into practice. That said, I still see many people at the gym wasting much of their time doing ineffective exercises that are not going to help them loose weight.

First principle of weight loss

I am going to assume that you understand this and I am not going to discuss it but I just want to throw it out there. Weight loss is 80% about what you eat. Get that down and you will be well on your way.

Effective Exercise Will Also Help – Supersets

My previous point about people wasting most of their time is closely related to this idea. If you go to they gym and do 4 sets of 10 reps on a single exercise with a 60 to 90 second break in between you are not anywhere near your ideal weight loss target. This is effective for adding muscle and spending lots of time in the gym but if you really want to burn fat you need to ramp it up.

Supersets will allow you to rocket past any weight loss plateaus that you may be stuck on and will get you in fabulous cardiovascular shape at the same time. Here is what you need to do.

Pick two exercises that work opposing muscle group, large muscle groups that is, not your arms or calfs. Full body movements like pull ups or dead lifts are much more effective for weight loss.

Do each exercise for a predetermined number of reps; for fat loss I would stick in the 10 – 20 range.

Rest no more than 30 seconds between sets and repeat.

Do at least 3 sets of each exercise with a minimum of 6 total exercises.

Alternate workouts and don’t workout the same muscle group more than one day in a row.

- Don’t waste time with abs, arms, calfs, forearms, or any other small muscles, if you are doing large muscle movements you are hitting all of these areas anyway.

Follow these simple weight loss tip and you will see major gains in a very short amount of time.

Benefits of Ellipticals and Their Multiple Uses

The elliptical did not enter the market until the 1990’s and the modern compact version was not invented until 2004 by Larry D. Miller. The main idea is to mimic the exact motion of someone running while trying to put less strain on the joints.

These are useful as home gym machines because they are a great cardiovascular workout and can help you burn off that extra bit of weight. Stop feeling guilty after a diet-breaking meal because if you have one of these pieces of exercise equipment in your basement, or at the office, you can just burn off that meal and be back on track. Why? Because the design of the elliptical system is meant to work out both your upper and lower body at the same time. Some experts believe that this offers a more effective workout than simply running on a treadmill.

The more affordable of these devices can be bought at under $500, however if you’re looking for a heavy duty gym model that’s designed to stand up to excessive use, than that could push the price up into the thousands.

Another key plus to these elliptical home gym machines is that they are much quieter than their cousins the treadmill. This is very useful if you live in an apartment setting or someplace where noise could be a problem. Being able to do your workout while listening to your favorite music on your ipod and have no one the wiser in your building can be a great relief.

Although being fairly new to the home gym scene, these remarkable units are steadily growing in popularity. Why is this so? Primarily because the exercise that can be accomplished on ellipticals is so much gentler on the body than many other home gym machines that are more expensive. Yet despite their gentleness, they offer a means of burning the same amount of calories as running for several kilometers or even skiing regularly. This has made it a favorite piece of training equipment for sports pros as well as for people who can’t get outdoors for regular exercise.
